The Idiom Wines Viognier is an opulent, barrel-fermented expression of the grape variety produced in the Stellenbosch wine region of South Africa. Matured for 9 months in a combination of 1st fill, but mainly 2nd and 3rd fill French 225L oak barrels the wine shows initial aromas of yellow citrus fruits that develop into a complex melange of melon, lemon cheesecake and coriander on the nose. This medium to full-bodied wine has an elegant, buttery mid palate followed by a lingering sensation of nectarine and lavender. Serve chilled and enjoy the evolution of flavours in the glass.
